Ohaneze Ndigbo have cancelled annual celebration to mourn victims of pro Biafra agitation

Chief Maurice Chinedu Amaku, the president Ohanaeze Ndigbo group in Bayelsa state under the aegis of Ohanaeze Ndigbo has canceled Igbo-day annual celebration to mourn members of Independent People of Biafra (IPOB) that were recently killed during Operation Python Dance in southeast. 

The group called on all its members in the state to remain indoors on Friday, September 29, to mourn their people who were murdered during operation of Python Dance. This information was gathered in a statement signed by Maurice Chinedu Amaku, president of the group. 

In line with the resolution of Ohanaeze Ndigbo worldwide and Ohanaeze Ndigbo Bayelsa state, this year’s Igbo day celebration will be aimed at committing the challenges of the Igbos to God for divine intervention” Moreover, Sunny Chukwueze, a special assistant to Seriake Dickson, the Bayelsa state governor said Igbos would stay in their various homes to pray to God and mourn their people who murdered. 

Chukwueze said: ”What are we celebrating? We will stay in our various homes to pray to God and mourn for our people who have been murdered”

Meanwhile, the younger brother to ipob leader Emmanuel Kanu, has called on the military authorities to release the corpse of leader of IPOB if he has been killed.
