A Gombe state magistrate court, has allegedly remanded a 35-year-old man, Abubakar Adamu, for allegedly insulting the state Governor, Ibrahim Dankwambo, and the governor’s mother.
Abubakar, a civil servant with the State Ministry of Higher Education was allegedly sued by one Inuwa Dattijo, a.k.a. D. J. Maitaya, of the State Agency for Social Services, who alleged that the accused person sent him an audio clip containing insults directed at the governor and his mother.
The police prosecutor, Inspector Habibu Danjuma, informed the court that the accused couldn’t name the purported sender of the message, and so failed to give a satisfactory account of the said information.
Danjuma said, “The accused person was charged with one count of fabricating false evidence, an offence that contravened Section 156 of the Penal Code Law.’’
