Some supporters of the Indigenous People of Biafra organised a protest in London – The protest which reportedly held on Tuesday, September 19, is against the invasion of security operatives in the southeast – The demonstration follows the mixed feelings that have greeted the activities of the Nigerian army in states like Abia recently Nigerian protesters have taken over some streets in London to kick against the invasion of the southeast by security agents under the Operation Python Dance.
The Nigerian army stormed the southeastern part of Nigeria in a bid to curtail the activities of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and its leader, Nnamdi Kanu. Details of the current protest in London were still sketchy at the time of this report, but there have been mixed feelings over the activities of the security operatives in Abia state where Kanu has been since he was freed from detention by the Nigerian government.

NAIJ.com earlier reported that a day before the protest, the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) charged seven suspected members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) to court on a 12-count charge including alleged murder and arson. The suspects were arraigned on Monday, September 18, but remanded in Aba prison by a Magistrates Court sitting in Abia state.
The Coalition of Civil Society Organisations for Transparency and Good Governance also warned the Nigerian government to urgently tame the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB). The coalition warned that if Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the agitating group, and his team are not tackled immediately, they could end up worse than Boko Haram. The group said IPOB had exhibited all the characteristics of terrorism to the extent that it had become the metaphor for describing the southern equivalent of Boko Haram led by Abubakar Shekau..
