NIGERIAN AIRWAYS WORKERS IN A PROTEST OVER PENSION ARREARS

Hundreds of workers of the Nigerian Airways stormed over the Murtala Muhammed Airport road, protesting over non payment of about N70bn believing to be their entitlements and final benefits/pensions. The peaceful demonstration which has the heavy present of security has worsened the traffic along the wing of Lagos Airport.
The former workers were seen carrying placards with inscriptions, “we need our pay, not monthly pension”, “pls pay our severance benefits in full”, “Mr president we prayed for your recovery every Friday since May 2017; etc. The National Carrier was allegedly liquidated by former President Olusegun Obasanjo in 2005, and since then the  workers were in trenches fighting for the payment of their final entitlements.
