The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Nigeria Economic Summit Group (NESG) have pledged to establish a strategic institutional partnership aimed at accelerating investment, job creation, and sustainable national development through enhanced economic diplomacy.

Speaking on Tuesday during a courtesy visit from an NESG delegation led by Cecilia Akintomide, the Honourable Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Sola Enikanolaiye, reaffirmed the Ministry's commitment to leveraging Nigeria’s "4-Ds" foreign policy framework to attract foreign direct investment and support the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration.

The NESG delegation briefed the Minister on preparations for the 32nd Nigerian Economic Summit, slated for October 25–27, 2026, under the theme "Growth that Works: Delivering Jobs, Productivity and Shared Prosperity."

The group secured the Ministry's full support to facilitate high-level diplomatic and international participation at the summit, alongside backing for a proposed Africa Economic Summit and an upcoming Gender Summit in September.

Both parties emphasized the necessity of a coordinated, whole-of-government approach—collaborating closely with bodies like the Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC)—to translate macroeconomic stability into tangible socioeconomic improvements for all Nigerians while balancing regional energy transition interests.
