?The Senator representing Benue South Senatorial District and Senate Minority Leader, Comrade Abba Moro, PhD, has extended his heartfelt condolences to former Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, following the passing of her mother, Professor Kamene Okonjo.

?Senator Moro described the late scholar and matriarch of the Umu Obi Obahai Royal Family as an exceptional woman who distinguished herself throughout her life, achieved the pinnacle of her academic career, and raised illustrious children before passing away peacefully at the age of 96.

?He noted that her enduring legacy lives on through the achievements of her children, including Dr. Okonjo-Iweala, the current Director-General of the World Trade Organization (WTO), and the traditional ruler of Ogwashi-Uku Kingdom, Obi (Dr.) Ifechukwude Anishi Okonjo II.

?Expressing solidarity with the family of the late Prof. Obi Chukwuka Okonjo and the entire Ogwashi-Uku Kingdom, Senator Moro remarked that the matriarch lived a fulfilled and exemplary life worthy of emulation.

He prayed that God grant her soul eternal rest and give the family the fortitude to bear the loss.
