?The Federal High Court in Abuja has fixed November 19, 2026, to deliver judgment in a legal challenge over former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello's victory in the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election for Kogi Central Senatorial District.  

?Justice Inyang Ekwo scheduled the judgment date on Monday after all participating legal teams formally adopted their written addresses and presented final closing arguments.  

?The lawsuit was instituted by Momoh Yusuf Obaro, an aspirant in the May 18 APC primary, who named the ruling party, Yahaya Bello, and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as defendants.  

?Obaro claims he secured the majority of lawful votes cast during the exercise and is asking the court to set aside Bello’s candidacy, declare him the legitimate winner, and compel INEC to publish his name as the official candidate for Kogi Central.  

?Rejecting the suit, Yahaya Bello maintained that he won the primary election through a landslide victory, polling 72,399 votes against his closest runner-up, Ibrahim Yakubu Adoke, who received 319 votes, while Obaro placed last with 188 votes.  

?Bello urged the court to dismiss the suit in its entirety, describing Obaro's allegations as baseless and fabricated, while arguing that the petition was procedurally defective for failing to comply with standard legal affidavit requirements.  

?Having received and reviewed the written arguments from all counsel involved, Justice Ekwo adjourned the suit until November 19 for final judgment.
