Deputy Speaker Kalu Applauds Governor Otti for Swift Approval of Land Titles for New Federal Tertiary Institutions in Abia

 Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, has praised Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, for swiftly issuing Certificates of Occupancy (C-of-O) for two newly established federal tertiary institutions in Bende Local Government Area.


?The land approvals secure the sites for the Federal College of Education, Bende, and the Federal University of Medical and Health Sciences, Item, Bende. Both institutions were established through legislation sponsored by Kalu and signed into law by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in June 2025.


?Commending the state government, the Deputy Speaker emphasized that prompt land titling will accelerate infrastructure development, expand access to higher education and specialized healthcare, generate jobs, and stimulate economic activity across Abia State.

?Kalu, who represents Bende Federal Constituency, noted that the productive synergy between his office and the Abia State Government demonstrates how cross-tier collaboration yields tangible benefits for the public. He reiterated his commitment to attracting further federal projects and strategic investments to the state.

?"I commend His Excellency, Dr. Alex Otti, for this swift action," Kalu stated. "It is a synergy that works for the development of Abia State and our people in general."
