There was a turn off of events Yesterday, when His Excellency the Governor put an end to the controversy by affirming that Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II is the legitimate Emir of Kano.

With this development, it can be said that the Kano Emirate crisis has effectively come to an end, even though the matter is still before the court. Governor Abba’s defection to the APC is expected to work in his favour in court, given the party’s control at the centre.
