?A grand family wedding in Bamako has gone viral after a Malian businesswoman based in Gabon attended the event adorned in an estimated 10 kilograms of gold jewelry, valued between $1.5 million and $1.6 million (over 1 billion CFA francs).
?Oumou Sininta Diallo, the wife of businessman Seydou Maka Diallo, became the center of attention at the "World Wedding of the Diallo Family," a massive celebration uniting 13 couples. Reports indicate, however, that the exact weight and financial valuation of the jewelry have not been independently confirmed.
?The wedding featured several other high-profile displays of wealth. Festivities included substantial cash gifts distributed to griots and artists totaling over 100 million CFA francs, which included a reported 50 million CFA franc contribution to artist Babani Koné.
Attendees also exchanged luxury items such as Rolex watches, designer handbags, and physical suitcases filled with cash.
?The extravagant display has sparked mixed reactions across social media platforms, with online commentators divided between expressing amazement at the scale of the celebration and criticizing the display as excessive.
