The Honourable Minister of Art, Culture, Tourism, and the Creative Economy, Barr. Hannatu Musa Musawa, has disclosed that Nigeria’s creative sector currently accounts for approximately 2.3% of the national GDP, as the Ministry targets a $100 billion GDP contribution and two million new jobs by 2030 under the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

?Speaking at her office during a strategic visit by the Director-General of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Professor Ayo Omotayo, and former Minister of Information and Culture, Alh. Lai Mohammed, Musawa revealed that the Ministry has inaugurated four drafting committees focusing on policy and strategy, program implementation, stakeholder engagement, and monitoring and evaluation to establish the necessary institutional and financial frameworks. She added that work is also concluding on a comprehensive National Tourism Policy to anchor the long-term vision.

?The visit by NIPSS leadership aimed to seek the Ministry’s partnership for an upcoming National Summit and Exhibition on the Orange Economy. Musawa commended NIPSS for adopting the Orange Economy—encompassing creative, cultural, and heritage sectors—as the core study theme for its Senior Executive Course (SEC) 48 in 2026, affirming that the initiative directly aligns with the administration's economic diversification goals.

?In his remarks, Prof. Omotayo emphasized that NIPSS is committed to driving the President's 2030 economic agenda by collaborating with the Ministry to institutionalize strategic policies.

Corroborating this, Alh. Lai Mohammed noted that the Orange Economy represents the future of Nigeria's economic growth and holds immense potential for large-scale job creation.

?Minister Musawa assured the delegation of the Ministry's full support and commitment to serving as a core partner and co-convener for the upcoming summit.
