?Troops of 82 Division and Joint Task Force South East, Operation UDO KA (OPUK), have recorded significant operational breakthroughs across the South East, compelling members of a local militant group to surrender their arms while recovering additional weapons and an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in separate operations.

?Following sustained operational pressure by troops of the 34 Artillery Brigade and the recent arrest of suspects linked to the killing of a soldier, members of a militant group operating in Egbema and surrounding areas voluntarily began surrendering their arms.

A suspect led security forces to exhume concealed weapons, resulting in the recovery of an AK-47 rifle, two AK-47 magazines, 54 rounds of 7.62 mm Special ammunition, and four locally fabricated firearms.

?In a concurrent intelligence-led follow-up operation, troops of Sector 5 OPUK recovered two General Purpose Machine Guns (GPMGs), 45 rounds of 7.62 mm x 51 ammunition, and one IED, further dismantling criminal capabilities in the region.

?The Nigerian Army attributes the voluntary surrenders to its integrated kinetic and non-kinetic strategy, combining relentless military pressure with strategic community engagement and inter-agency collaboration.

Reaffirming its commitment to safeguarding national sovereignty and restoring lasting peace across the South East, the Army urges the public to continue providing timely, credible information to support ongoing operations.
