A group of concerned stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from Katagum and Bauchi Central zones has formally petitioned the Bauchi State leadership of the party, alleging what they described as the continued marginalisation and exclusion of the two zones from key political and party appointments.

In a letter dated July 26, 2026, and addressed to the APC State Chairman, the stakeholders expressed dissatisfaction over what they termed the concentration of influential positions within Bauchi South Zone. 

The petition, which was copied to the National Chairman of the APC, the Chairman of the APC Stakeholders Forum in Bauchi State, and other party leaders, called for urgent intervention to address the perceived imbalance.

The statement, signed by Nafiu Mairiga Mohammed, Secretary of the Concerned Stakeholders of Katagum and Bauchi Central Zones, made available to newsmen on Tuesday in Bauchi 

listed several strategic positions currently occupied by individuals from Bauchi South, including the APC State Chairman, coordinators of key political movements, a leading gubernatorial aspirant, the chairman of the reconciliation committee, and the party’s National Auditor.

According to the stakeholders, the development raises concerns about fairness, inclusiveness, and equitable representation within the party. 

They questioned whether qualified individuals from Katagum and Bauchi Central zones were being overlooked despite their contributions to the party’s electoral successes in 2015, 2019, and 2023.

The group demanded an immediate restructuring of party appointments to reflect zoning balance and ensure broader participation in leadership. 

While reaffirming their loyalty to the APC, they warned that continued exclusion of the two zones could undermine party unity and weaken its political strength in Bauchi State ahead of future elections.
