APC Names Governor Uzodimma to Chair Campaign Council for Osun Governorship Poll


?The All Progressives Congress (APC) has constituted its National Campaign Council and sub-committees ahead of the Osun State governorship election scheduled for Saturday, August 15, 2026.

?In a statement issued by the party's National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, the campaign council will be chaired by the Governor of Imo State and Chairman of the Progressive Governors' Forum, Senator Hope Uzodimma. Co-chairing the council are Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, and Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas.

?The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Political and Other Matters, Ibrahim Kabir Masari, will serve as Deputy Chairman, while the Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau Jibrin, takes on the role of Council Secretary.


The high-powered council comprises party leaders, state governors, members of the National Working Committee, principal officers of the National Assembly, federal ministers, state and federal lawmakers, and other key political stakeholders tasked with securing victory at the polls.

?To ensure comprehensive campaign management, the ruling party also formed specialized sub-committees covering election planning and management, finance and resource mobilization, grassroots strategy, logistics, media and publicity, security, protocol, monitoring and compliance, as well as dedicated mobilization committees for youth, women, persons with disabilities, and secretariat operations.

?The APC announced that the National Campaign Council alongside its specialized sub-committees will be officially inaugurated on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at the Transcorp Hilton Event Centre in Abuja at 12:00 noon.
