The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, has urged Nigerians to remain steadfast in their faith in the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, declaring that ongoing reforms are yielding results and restoring peace and development to the nation.

?Speaker Abbas made the remarks while addressing journalists following a special Jumma'at prayer at the National Mosque in Abuja on Friday, held ahead of Nigeria's 66th Independence Anniversary on October 1. The Speaker represented President Tinubu at the prayer session.

?Reflecting on the country’s journey, Speaker Abbas noted that while Nigeria’s path since independence has been marked by mixed fortunes, the nation has matured and is now addressing long-standing structural challenges.

?"This 66th anniversary signifies that Nigeria has come of age," Speaker Abbas said. "My message to the country on behalf of Mr. President, the Senate President, and all members of the National Assembly is that citizens should not lose hope. Peace is returning to this country. Development is returning to this country. Things will get better as we progress in this democracy."

?He highlighted that the current administration is actively correcting past mistakes and missed opportunities, placing the nation on a trajectory toward lasting growth.

?"I want to categorically make it clear that Nigeria is on the right path; there is light at the end of the tunnel, and Nigerians have finished making sacrifices for this country to be great again," he added, urging citizens to support the continuation of the government's reform agenda.

?The special prayer session was attended by high-ranking government officials, including Deputy Senate President Senator Barau Jibrin, Secretary to the Government of the Federation Senator George Akume, state governors, members of the National Assembly, federal ministers, and service chiefs.
