The Federal government has launched a 10 million Mega women empowerment rally under the name Women Mega Empowerment rally 2026 

Themed “The Power of 10 Million,” 

The First Lady Sen. Oluremi Tinubu has described the Nigerian women as the driving force of the country’s next phase of development, declaring that national progress will be shaped by their rising influence, collective strength and active participation in governance

Senator Oluremi told the women drawn from across the federation in their numbers at the Moshud Abiola Stadium in Abuja that their role in nation-building is no longer optional but central to Nigeria’s future.

The first lady emphasize the role of women, highlighting that they make up over half of the population and are uniquely positioned to influence change, urging them to take their place in shaping political and economic outcomes.

She stressed the appreciation of the Nigerian women for paving ways for the present democracy as well as those women who work daily to support their families thereby raising the national economy while doing so. 

Meanwhile, the Minister of Women Affairs, Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, has called on the Nigerian women to use their PVC appropriately in the forthcoming general election in 2027 calling them "human beings with PVC", Suleiman described the moment as unprecedented in Nigeria’s history, marked by increased attention and prioritisation of women’s issues.

The minister also presented a charter for unward conveyance to the president pleading that he do more by creating more and better opportunities to the Nigerian women who are already a part of his cabinet. 

Iman said the charter unveiled at the rally is more than a document, but “a social contract, a policy promise and a political arrangement” that defines women’s place in Nigeria’s future. 

Others who spoke in a goodwill message include the Special Assistant to the president on health Dr. Salma Ibrahim Anas who said the rally is a great initiative and a good move in the right direction which the Nigerian women are happy about and will benefit a lot from.
