Stakeholders synergies to strengthens community policing in NIngi LGA

The Bauchi State Police Command and the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) have joined forces to enhance community policing in the Ningi Local Government Area of the State.

Our Correspondent reports that the synergy aims to address critical issues affecting the community, including police welfare, logistics, and relationships with the community.

The Stakeholders raised several issues at a dialogue session on mutual accountability and community Scorecard
on Friday in Ningi organized by Voluntary Aid Initiative with technical support from International Alert and funded by the UK International Development

The stakeholders’ meeting, discussions were centered around Sexual Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) and strategies for preventing crimes through early warning systems.

They emphasised the importance of bridging the communication gap between law enforcement and the community.

Alhaji Ahmed Mohammed, Chairman Miyetti Allah in Ningi LGA said police are friends to all, and it’s essential we share information and work together to build safer communities.

“This synergy will help address the concerns of both the police and the community, ultimately leading to improved relationships and a more secure environment.” he said

Another stakeholder, Mrs. Aisha Mohammed, emphasized the importance of community engagement in preventing crimes.

“We need to work together to identify potential security threats and develop strategies to prevent them.

“This collaborative approach will help build trust between the police and the community.” She said,

Alhaji Aminu Yunusa, Chairman PCRC of Ningi LGA commended the initiative, stating that the synergy is a step in the right direction towards promoting community policing and ensuring the safety and security of our people.

The State command Commissioner of Police, (CP) Auwal Musa,represented by Divisional Police Officer Ningi Division, CSP Abba Ali assured the stakeholders that the police command is committed to working closely with the community to address their concerns.

“We value the input and support of the community in our efforts to maintain law and order,” he said.
