Senator Shehu Umar Buba, representing Bauchi South Senatorial District, has dismissed allegations by Governor Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir that he supports and sponsors banditry.

Governor Mohammed’s letter to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu dated September 19, 2024, claimed Senator Buba was behind acts of banditry.

However, Senator Buba described the allegations as baseless, fabricated, and malicious.

In a press statement, Senator Buba’s Legislative Assistant, Hassan Gajin Duguri, emphasized that the senator will not be intimidated.

The statement criticized Governor Mohammed for consistently insulting President Tinubu and inciting citizens against the Federal Government.

The senator’s office clarified that he does not have a Senior Legislative Aide named Yahaya Ibrahim, as claimed by Governor Mohammed.

Senator Buba sponsors individuals for Hajj pilgrimage based on community recommendations.

As Chairman of the Senate Committee on National Security and Intelligence, Senator Buba has championed anti-banditry initiatives.

The statement concluded that Senator Buba remains committed to serving his constituents and ensuring national security.
