LGA polls : APC in Bauchi undeterred with PDP’s intimidation tactics- Tilde

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bauchi State has declared its readiness to participate in the upcoming local government area elections, despite alleged intimidation tactics by the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

It could be recalled that the Bauchi State Independent Electoral Commission (BASIEC) has fixed August 17, 2024 for the council’s polls in the state.

Alhaji Hassan Tilde, State Chairman of the Party stated this at campaign flag off for the forthcoming Local government elections on Saturday in Bauchi

He expressed confidence in its ability to win the council polls, citing its strong presence and support base in the state.

“We are undeterred by the PDP’s alleged tactics, we also reiterated our commitment to participating in the elections,” he said.

Tilde claimed to have all the necessary resources and structures in place to emerge victorious at the councils polls

Also Speaking, Sen.Shehu Buba, the Senator representing Bauchi south senatorial district APC accused the PDP of attempting to intimidate opposition parties into not participating in the elections.

He alleged that the PDP is planning to maneuver or rig the elections to maintain its grip on power.

Buba vowed that the party would resist any attempts to undermine the democratic process and ensure a free and fair election.

“Our party would demonstrate its commitment to democracy and the will of the people.

“The outcome of the elections will be closely watched, as it may indicate the level of political tolerance and fairness in the state.

Our Correspondent reports that APC flags were presented to 20 local government area candidates and as well as the party received over 500,000 decampees from the ruling and opposition parties.
