Ministry of Interior to review Nigeria’s visa policy

The language of the #RenewedHope administration is efficiency. Today, I chaired a stakeholders’ consultative meeting organized by the Ministry of Interior to review Nigeria’s visa policy and propose recommendations for opening up the country to business opportunities, economic prosperity, and tourism while ensuring national security is not jeopardized.

All day, we held deliberations with key stakeholders, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Investment, Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC), the Nigeria Immigration Service, and other policy-making bodies.

The meeting centered on identifying areas for improvement and exploring the potential of technology to enhance and streamline Nigeria’s visa process.

When implemented within the next few weeks, I am confident that the proposals presented will contribute to our nation’s prosperity, acknowledging the vital role that visa policy plays in safeguarding national security and integrity.
