Bauchi Govt warns officials against salary administration sabotage.

The Bauchi State Government has warned against sabotaging its efforts towards resolving salary challenges in the state.

Alhaji Auwal Jatau, the State Deputy Governor gave the warning at the opening 2-day workshop for Commissioners, Special Advisers, and Permanent Secretaries on pay solutions software for salary administration Monday in Bauchi

He noted that the state suffered challenges of civil servservanti role and payroll and the entire salary administration

“I want to reiterate here that Governor Bala Mohammed is always worried about the challenges being experienced in the salary administration.

“Therefore, the Government will not hesitate to deal decisively with whoever is found sabotaging the government in that regard.” He said

Jatau said ghost workers and other irregularities in the salary administration have been a major issue in previous administrations.

“Leading to a wide range of issues such as corruption and lack of motivation among civil servants, among other issues.

“There is no gainsaying the fact that the smooth administration of salary is crucial to the successful functioning of any government.

“The use of modern technology, such as Pay Solutions software, has revolutionised the way we manage our finances, increasing efficiency, and reducing errors in salary administration,” he said.

He said the re of the civil servants is a priority of the present administration recognizing the important role civil servants play in the delivery of good services to the citizens.

“The importance of accuracy in the payment of salary and allowances cannot be overemphasized.

Earlier, Alhaji Yahuza Haruna, the Head of Service (HoS) said the workshop is part of the state government’s commitment to sanitize the salary administration for a credible and sustainable payroll system.

He said the present administration has provided their service with all the needed infrastructure. and resources operate.

Haruna said there is the neato sanitise the nominal roll and any-mail to get rid of ghost workers to room for the government to recruit the teeming unemployed youths,

“As well implement promotions and other incentives in the system, thereby improving the human resources in the civil service and assured that the government is committed to ensuring a transparent and fair salary administration,” he said

The HoS urged the commissioners, special advisers, and permanent secretaries to pay attention to the supervisory ministries agencies and departments.
