States MPWBs collaborates with NAHCON to step up sensitisation for intending pilgrims-Video

 

 

The Forum of States Pilgrims Welfare Boards has unanimously agreed to join hands with the regulatory body to create more awareness among intending pilgrims on the importance of making their payments on time.

 

 

The duo in a press briefing shortly after meeting with the NAHCON Chairman at the conference hall of the Hajj house in Abuja on Tuesday revealed that, due to the shortage of time and again Saudi Arabia’s new policy which stated that every country must complete the assurances of visa to intensive pilgrims two months before Arafat day.

 

Recalled that the commission had taken a decision together with the State Executive officers on the deposits for the 2024 Hajj which they agreed the N4.5mln should be deposited by every intending pilgrim.

 

However, there are so many concerns from different quarters as to whether the pilgrims may be able to meet up with the said amount considering the shortage period.

 

 

 

Speaking during the press briefing, NAHCON Secretary Alhaji Abdulkadir Kontagora who briefed journalists said that the commission has agreed with the State executive’s secretaries to step up awareness and enlightenment campaigns to the extending pilgrims as to why they need to make their full payment in time.

 

He further revealed that they will use the Jumma’at mosques, the imams in other to get the information down to the grassroots.
