Bauchi finance commissioner commits to improve IGR

The Bauchi State new Commissioner for Finance and Economic Development, Mr Yakubu Adamu has reiterated his commitment to improve Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) in the state.

 

He stated when he paid a familiarization visit to agencies and units under the ministry on Tuesday in Bauchi, saying finding a source of revenue generation is key.

 

The commissioner expressed satisfaction with their collective commitment to improve on the existing revenue generation for the state government to function optimally.

Adamu urged departments, agencies and units under the Ministry of finance and economic development to be prudent and play complementary roles towards making the state financially independent.

 

While soliciting for their support and cooperation in steering the affairs of the ministry, Yakubu Adamu said he is determined to introduce new policies aimed at moving the state forward.

 

The Commissioner has visited the State Treasury, Board of Internal Revenue Services (BIRS) , Debt Management Office and the State Micro Finance Agency.

While responding, the state Accountant General Sa’idu Abubakar and Executive Chairman of the State Board of Internal Revenue Services Alh Mu’azu Usman promised to complement his efforts towards achieving the desired objectives.

The commissioner was accompanied by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry Hajiya Asma’u Muhammad Sunusi, Directors and other principal officers.
