The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Bauchi has sealed four private guards companies for alleged illegal operation in the state.
The State Commandant of NSCDC Mr llelaboye Olajide,
stated this while briefing Journalists on Monday in Bauchi.
He said that the Command operatives have embarked on monitoring illegal private security guards companies in the state.
“Today the operatives sealed four companies because they did not fulfill the criteria required by law.
“The security companies sealed are security hunters and patrol, Danga security hunters and patrol, Baushe security hunters and patrol then Unity Security hunters and patrol
“The operatives will intensify on monitoring and supervision of all beats manned by private guards companies to ensure that they are doing the right thing,” Olajide
The Commandant explained that registration of a company and obtaining a license to operates security are two different things,
“You are just following the process you must register your company and also obtain a license for operating private security guards.
“Therefore, the private guards’ companies were sealed either for illegal operation or failure to renew occupational license,” the Commandant said.
On his part, Mr Saad Aminu deputy Commandant and head private guards companies warned operators without obtaining license and renewal would face the sanctions of the law.
“The decision for the Command to clam on violators was to ensure efficiency in the command’s operations.
“So far the operatives arrested seven operators of the company to explain their reasons of illegal operations of private guards company,” he said
Aminu also said the Commandant General Dr Ahmed Audi had given all the commands a matching order to ensure that all licensed security companies operating within their states to be monitored and supervised effectively.
