Jatau pledge collaboration with partners to improve health indicators in Bauchi

The Deputy Governor of Bauchi state, Alhaji Auwal Jatau has pledged collaboration with development partners in the health sector effectively for promotion of health indicators in the state.

 

He made the pledge at the official taking over the chairmanship of the State Task Force (STF) on Primary Healthcare (PHC) on Monday.

 

Jatau said the State government is always concerned with the health system, adding that collaboration with partners brings positive results.

 

“Such as improvements of the health indicators in communities, increased financial resources of the health sector, and strengthening local governments’ capacities to provide health-care services,” he said.

 

The Chairman of the Task Force re-assure stakeholders and donor agencies that Governor Bala Mohammed led government prompt payment of counterpart funds to enhance health interventions.

 

The Deputy Governor also pledged to provide good leadership that will assist the state government to achieve its goals on primary healthcare delivery.

 

Jatau solicited the cooperation of the entire members of the State Task-Force Committee on Primary Healthcare.

 

“That includes local government chairmen, traditional leaders, development partners, relevant stakeholders among others to ensure effective implementation of the committee’s objectives,” Jatau said.

He appreciated Emir of Dass, Alhaji Usman Bilyaminu Othman the co-chair of the committee for his commitment towards the committee’s activities at the grassroot level.

Observing that, the social mobilization and community engagement activities could not have been striving without his productive intervention.

“Interestingly, the management of the State Primary Healthcare Development Agency had briefed me on the composition, terms of reference and roles and responsibilities of the Task Force.

“Let me assure you that, in my capacity as the new chairman, I will ensure that quarterly review meetings are held as scheduled.” The Chairman state.

On his part, the co-chair of the committee, Othman congratulated the Deputy Governor as the new Chairman of the State Task Force on Primary Healthcare.

He however assured the chairman of all necessary support of members of the committee to succeed in advancing the healthcare system in the state.
