Ramadan: Wase calls for prayers

The Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt Hon Ahmed Idris Wase CON, has urged Muslims to use the period of the Holy month of Ramadan to pray for their country and to rededicate themselves to the service of God and humanity.

In a massage to mark the commencement of the Holy month of Ramadan issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Umar Muhammad Puma, Wase said with prayers, the country would overcome the current security and economic challenges facing it.

He described Ramadan as a period of devotion, obedience and spiritual rebirth and urged the faithful to commit themselves to prayers for peace, security and stability of Nigeria.

“As we prepare for a new transition, We must include our country in prayers and also seize these opportunities for the betterment of ourselves, our families and our nation,” he added.

While expressing confidence that Nigeria is on the path of overcoming its challenges, Wase urged religious scholars to avoid provocative remarks that will undermine the unity and stability of the country.

He equally wished all Nigerians a successful and peaceful Ramadan season.
