President Muhammadu Buhari maintain his visit to Kano tomorrow, Monday, January 30, 2023, despite objection from the state’s governor, Abdullahi Umaru Ganduje.
Reports on Sunday revealed that the president is not swayed by the governor’s reason to cancel his trip which was already scheduled for 30th January
Ganduje, during interactive sessions with scholars, legislators, political leaders, and business community in the state at Government House, Kano revealed that he had asked the president to cancel his trip due to hardship being faced by residents induced by the January 31 deadline for old naira notes.
He added that the decision was taken to avoid any unforeseen circumstances.
“As we are waiting for this important visit, we found ourselves in this situation, which puts citizens into untold hardship.
For security purpose we wrote to Presidency that President Muhammadu Buhari’s visit to Kano be postponed.
However, the President is said to be adamant on the visit.
