Govenor Lalong dedicates national award to plateau citizens – Pho

 

Govenor Simon Bako Lalong who recieved a national honour today has said that he dedicated his award to the citizens of Plateau state.

 

 

In a press release signed by the Director of Press and Public Affairs to the Govenor Makut Simon Macham, LALONG said the award is as a result of the opportunities given to him by the state and the nation to serve in verious capacity.

GOVERNOR LALONG, DEDICATES  NATIONAL AWARD TO PLATEAU CITIZENS

 

Plateau State Governor Simon Bako Lalong has dedicated the National Honours Award bestowed on him and other eminent sons and daughters of Plateau State by President Muhammadu Buhari to the people of Plateau State who have continued to sustain the legacy of peace, unity and hospitality that is a hallmark of the State.

 

Governor Lalong who was speaking at a reception organised in honour of the Awardees in Abuja, said the awards bestowed on them is as a result of the opportunities that the State and nation has given them to serve in different capacities.

He said the recognition symbolises the appreciation of the role that Plateau State has played in the development of Nigeria through its many sons and daughters who have distinguished themselves in different fields.

 

While thanking President Buhari for the honour, Lalong said apart from the Awardees from Plateau, there are many others who associate with Plateau during the awards because of the fact that they were either born or raised in Plateau State or had their professional breakthroughs in Jos at different times.

 

He said the awards will spur them to do more and continue to make sacrifices for the advancement of the lives of the people.

Deputy Speaker House of Representatives Rt. Hon. Idris Wase appreciated the reception held in their honour and expressed their commitment to always work with the Governor in charting a new course for Plateau State in line with its diversity, accommodating spirit and hospitality.

 

He commended the people of Plateau State for supporting the Rescue Administration and its policies which are inclusive, visionary and proactive.

Gbong Gwom Jos Da Jacob Gyang Buba also speaking reminded all citizens of Plateau State that the nation relies on them to show the example of versatility, hardwork and accommodation particularly at challenging times.

 

Speaking on behalf of Plateau Elders Arch. P.D. Gyang congratulated all the recipients and urged them to continue to give their best in the service of Plateau State and Nigeria.

 

Other speakers including PIDAN President Prof. Aboi Madaki, CAN Chairman Plateau State Rev. Fr. Polycarp Lubo, JNI Secretary Plateau State Salim Musa Umar, Sum Pyem HRH Charles Mato Dakat all thanked God for the awards and prayed God to continue to lift Plateau State to greater heights.
