Medical Outreach: Woman delivers while waiting for maternity kit in Kano- photos

 

A 30-year-old mother, Hadiza Ayuba, from , Warawa local government of Kano State, gave birth while attending a medical outreach organised by AKTH with the support of member representing Dawakin kudu and Warawa at the national assembly.

 

 

 

The Saturday event became a blessing for Hadiza Ayuba who gave birth to a baby-girl while waiting to receive the  delivery kits and baby bathing set for 1000 women selected from the area.

 

The proud mother said,

“I thanked the Almighty Allah for the safe delivery, I delivered the baby after nine months pregnancy. The baby is named Fatima,” Ayuba said.

 

 

(ABC) news reports that the items were part of Constituency Project of the Member Representing Dawakin-Kudu and Warawa Federal Constituency, Alhaji Mustapha Bala.

To compliment the effort, nurses and midwives from the Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital, Kano (AKTH), counselled the beneficiaries on the significance  of Anti Natal and Post Natal Care, respectively.

Earlier, Metron in charge of Immunisation and Chill Welfare, AKTH Nafisatu Adamu, urged husbands to intensify efforts on improving nutrition for pregnant mothers to avoid malnutrition in babies.

“We don’t need to spend much money, because we have our local foods like soyabean, groundnut, moringa, among others that can be used to produce nutritious food,”

She further advised  husbands supportp regnant mothers in attending Anti Natal Care (ANC) and routine iminizarions services to ensure healthy growth of babies.

It was also a moment for health personnel to further enlighten mothers on the issues around pregnancy, delivery and immunisation.

A beneficiary Lami Aliyu, appreciated the organizers and promise to reach out to others on the new nutritional skills learnt.

The law maker Alhaji Mustapha Bala, said the objectives of the exercises is to assist  thousands of pregnant women in the area who can not afford hospital services.

Similarly the law maker said that he has been able to construct a hospital for women and child care at Warawa that was equipped with modern machines to enhance service delivery.
