President Muhammadu Buhari will on Tuesday, July 26th 2022, departs for Monrovia, Liberia from Abuja.
President Buhari is expected to deliver an address bordering on West Africa’s security, free and fair elections and respect for rule of law” among other things.
According to a statement released by Garba Shehu, Senior Special Assistant to the president on media and publicity, the president will also join other African leaders as Liberia marks a Special Independence anniversary,
The event is also to mark the commemoration of 175 years of self-rule; making it the oldest independent post-colonial African State.
The Liberia visit is coming two days after the release of viral video footage showing terrorists—including an escapee from the July 5 Kuje Prison attack—whipping the remaining 43 of over 61 passengers kidnapped from a Kaduna-bound train on March 28.
