For female staff’s hygienic menstrual management, Dame Pauline Tallen unveils sanitary pad bank at Federal Ministry of Water Resources.

 

 

To make for hygienic menstrual management by the staff of the Federal Ministry of Water Resources, the Honorable Minister of Women Affairs, Dame Pauline Tallen, OFR, KSG has gone to encourage this practice by unveiling the Menstrual Sanitary Pad Bank at the Ministry today, Monday 30th of May, 2022.

 

 

 

The unveiling event was held at the Abuja Headquarters of the Water Resources Ministry.

 

 

At the event, Dame Tallen stated that the menstrual sanitary pad bank in workplaces and organizations is meant to enhance hygiene in our workplaces, schools, banks and even markets, Airports and other places. She further stated that with the commemoration of the World Menstrual Health and Hygiene Day usually celebrated on the 28th of May, every year, and the 2022 edition with the theme: ‘’Making menstruation a normal fact of life by 2030’’ will enhance more productivity of women and girls of menstrual age.

 

 

Dame Tallen further revealed that there is remarkable progress concerning the menstrual sanitary pad bank now, that about five Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) including the Federal Ministry of Water Resources have mounted a menstrual sanitary pad bank on their premises.
She thanked the Honourable Minister of Water Resources for taking up the challenge, which has further earned him the title of ‘’HEforSHE’’.
Earlier while making his comment, the Minister of Water Resources, Engr. Suleiman Hussein Adamu thank the Women Affairs Minister for this great move which he said will increase productivity in workplaces and can also make learning much easier for our girl-children in schools.
