Nigerian High Commission to UK office closed after official tested positive to Covid-19

The federal government has closed the office of the Nigerian High Commission in the UK after an official tested positive for the deadly Coronavirus disease.

It was revealed that the head of Immigration and two other officers went for a meeting at the home office when on entrance they were tested.

A statement issued today 12th August by the Nigerian high commission in London said that a test was administered on them and one tested positive.

It is on this development that the mission had embarked on testing of officials while the other tested negative to the test.

This led to the isolation of the person who tested Positive while the other officials who tested negative will also isolate for 10 days.

The Mission, therefore, wish to announce that the office will be closed for 10 days, it saying,

“While the high commission regrets any inconvenience that they may have caused, we solicit the cooperation of the general public”.
