TRIBUTE TO LATE ALHAJI SALIHU BUTU
It is with a heavy heart but with total submission to the will of the Almighty that the NAHCON Chairman, Board, Management, and entire staff of National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, mourn the shocking death of our brother and colleague, Alhaji Salihu Abdullahi But.
Before his sudden demise, Late But was the Acting President of the Association of Hajj and Umrah Operators of Nigeria (AHUON). A seasoned administrator, Alhaji Zikrullah Kunle Hassan, the NAHCON Chairman described the time spent with Alhaji But as profitable. The Late Acting President demonstrated admirable leadership qualities. He offered encouragement to his members and was one whom NAHCON benefitted much from his advice. He was always supportive of NAHCON’s policies that are of best interest to the pilgrims, the nation, and tour operators, the Chairman eulogized.
Born in Yola, The late Alhaji But had a B.Sc Political Science from the University of Abuja. He successfully ran But Travel and Tours Limited, But Farms and Agro-Allied Company Yola, But Restaurant, and Fast Food Limited, Yola among others. He was Assistant Secretary, Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), Proprietor and Chairman of But School of Health Technology, Sabon Wuse, Niger State. He was a member of various organizations from religious, education to social cohesion bodies. He will be remembered as an astute Hajj manager who earned numerous awards in the course of his career.
On behalf of NAHCON’s board, entire staff, and management, Alhaji Zikrullah Kunle Hassan prays for the peaceful repose of his soul in Jannat ul Firdaus and prays for the family to bear the irreparable loss.
