The All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial candidate for the 2027 general election in Rivers State, Rt. Hon. Ogundu Kingsley Chinda, has pledged to govern the state with the fear of God if elected into office come May 29, 2027.
?Chinda made the commitment during the official unveiling of the "Rainbow Coalition" candidates before a massive crowd of party faithful at the Yakubu Gowon Township Stadium in Elekahia, Port Harcourt.
Dressed in white attire featuring touches of blue, party emblems, and signages of himself alongside President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the gubernatorial candidate displayed composure and readiness for the state’s top job.
?Addressing the rally, Chinda declared that all candidates under the Rainbow Coalition banner would secure victory to form an inclusive government of state unity, free from rancour, political division, and zero-sum entitlement.

He commended the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Chief Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, for his political ingenuity in conceiving the bi-partisan initiative.
The Rainbow Coalition unifies seven political party structures under one umbrella with the shared goal of securing re-election for President Tinubu, electing Chinda as Governor, and guaranteeing victory for all coalition candidates across various elective posts.
Chinda emphasized that the coalition’s core ideology centers on peace, unity, and progress essentials for state cohesion that had previously eluded Rivers State.
?Speaking earlier at the event, key party stalwarts urged residents to support President Tinubu, highlighting unprecedented federal attention given to Rivers State.
They cited over 50 major federal appointments, the establishment of the Federal University of Environmental Sciences, and the completion of the long-abandoned Bonny-Bodo Highway a landmark project moribund since 2005 that now enables direct road access to Bonny Island.
?In a key moment of the event, Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, presented flags and formal endorsements to the coalition's candidates across the participating political parties.
Governor Fubara reassured the crowd of political stability in the state, recognizing FCT Minister Nyesom Wike as the sole political leader of Rivers State while energizing party faithful for the upcoming polls.
?Rounding off the rally, Minister Wike energized the stadium audience with his signature musical interludes and dance steps.
He urged the electorate to vote massively for President Tinubu, back Chinda for Governor, and deliver victories for all coalition candidates. Wike also called on People's Democratic Party (PDP) candidates nationwide to support and re-elect President Tinubu in 2027.
