?The Federal Republic of Nigeria has reiterated its unwavering commitment to the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR), emphasizing its support for self-determination, decolonization, and the sanctity of colonial borders across the African continent.

?The position was reaffirmed during a bilateral meeting on Wednesday, July 22, in Abuja between Nigeria's Honourable Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Sola Enikanolaiye, and the SADR Minister of Foreign Affairs and African Affairs, H.E. Mohamed Yeslem Beissat, who was visiting as a Special Envoy.

?During the engagement, the Sahrawi envoy presented a letter addressed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and expressed deep appreciation for Nigeria’s principled foreign policy stance. Minister Enikanolaiye recalled that Nigeria’s backing of the Sahrawi Republic has remained steadfast since its official recognition of the nation in 1984, in alignment with African Union principles and international law.

?Both diplomats agreed to expand bilateral relations beyond political dialogue to include new initiatives in capacity building, economic cooperation, and people-to-people exchanges, reaffirming their shared commitment to peace, stability, and African unity.
