The Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, has commissioned and officially handed over a newly constructed multi-million naira office complex and Computer-Based Test (CBT) centre to the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) in Maiduguri.

The facility, situated along Maiduguri-Dikwa Road, will serve as JAMB’s North-East Zonal Office and cater to candidates across the region. 

It comprises a modern administrative block and a dual CBT centre capable of accommodating 500 candidates simultaneously.

Speaking during the inauguration, Governor Zulum said the project underscores his administration’s commitment to strengthening educational infrastructure and supporting efficient service delivery in the education sector. 

He noted that the centre would provide a regional platform for candidates seeking admission into tertiary institutions.

The governor also directed that the facility be named in honour of the outgoing JAMB Registrar.

Receiving the facility on behalf of JAMB, the Board’s Registrar, Professor Ishaq Oloyede, praised the governor for what he described as a historic achievement. 

According to him, no state governor in Nigeria has previously undertaken the construction of a JAMB zonal office and CBT centre of such scale.

Oloyede described the project as one of the finest CBT facilities in the country, noting that it can process over 2,000 candidates daily while simplifying registration and documentation processes. 

He commended Zulum’s commitment to education and youth development.
