The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, on Sunday continued his project commissioning tour in Kubau and Ikara Local Government Areas, flagging off new developments as part of a broader 86-project initiative across Zone 1 Senatorial District of Kaduna State.
?During the visit, Speaker Abbas commissioned primary healthcare centres in Zabi (Kubau LGA) and Ikara LGA.
He also performed groundbreaking ceremonies for several new facilities, including study centres for the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) accompanied by halls in Anchau and Ikara, a library in Kargi, a road construction project from Sani Ahmed Junction to Central Primary School in Ikara, and two blocks of 10 classrooms with suspended-floor offices and toilets across both local councils.
?Speaking on the scope of the projects, Speaker Abbas emphasized that the developments are tailored to support citizens across all stages of life, addressing primary healthcare needs, early childhood education, and adult learning opportunities.

?Reflecting on federal support for the region, the Speaker commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, stating that Kaduna State has enjoyed unprecedented support under the current administration.
He highlighted the President's approval of four major higher institutions in the state within three years, including the Federal University of Education, Zaria; the Federal University of Applied Sciences, Kafanchan; the University of Petroleum in Kaduna; and the recent upgrade of Kaduna Polytechnic to a University of Technology.
?Speaker Abbas urged project contractors to uphold strict quality standards, emphasizing that the facilities are built to serve future generations rather than just pass inspection.
He further disclosed that both Ikara and Kubau LGAs are scheduled to receive an additional 18 to 20 projects each under the 2027 national budget.
?Accompanying the Speaker were prominent leaders, including former Kaduna State Governor Dr. Mukhtar Ramalan Yero, Secretary to the State Government Dr. Abdulkadir Mu'azu Meyere, and Zaria Local Government Chairman Engr. Jamil Ahmad Muhammad.
The delegation collectively underscored the importance of maintaining the collaborative partnership between local, state, and federal leadership to sustain ongoing developmental progress.
