The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) hosted a Retirees’ Celebration Dinner at its corporate headquarters in Yenagoa to honour pioneering management staff and reflect on the significant progress of local content in the oil and gas sector under the NOGICD Act of 2010.

During the event held at the Nigerian Content Tower, 14 former employees from seven directorates received Special Awards of Excellence for their years of dedicated service.

Among those recognized were retired legal head Mohammed Babanginda Umar, who noted how local content compliance rose from 5% in 2010 to 61% today, as well as former acting Executive Secretary Daziba Patrick Obah, who detailed the surmounting of structural and research funding challenges during his tenure.

?Former directors Isaac Yalah and Dr. Ginah Otonye Ginah also reflected on key initiatives that shaped the agency, pointing to the $350 million Nigerian Content Intervention Fund (NCIF) that empowered indigenous firms like Seplat and Oando, alongside community ICT projects that bolstered digital literacy in the Niger Delta.

Speaking on behalf of Executive Secretary Engr. Felix Omatsola Ogbe, Director of Monitoring and Evaluation Esueme Dan Kikile commended the honourees for their mentorship, leadership, and lasting contributions to institutional growth.

The evening concluded with testimonials, cultural performances, and awards presented to retirees including Dr. Ama Ikuru, Adelana Akintunde, Dr. Obinna Ofili, Angela Okoro, Taridouye Gagariga, Ombu Atonbara, Okpetu Gabriel, and Peter Isu Odo.
