Ooni of Ife Felicitation Message to Governor Ademola Adeleke on Osun Re-Election Victory

The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, has congratulated Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, following his victory in the August 15, 2026 governorship election, characterizing the outcome as a fresh mandate to accelerate state development and foster post-election reconciliation.

?In an official statement issued by the Director of Media and Public Affairs at the Ooni's Palace, Otunba Moses Olafare, the monarch—who serves as Co-Chairman of the National Council of Traditional Rulers of Nigeria (NCTRN)—emphasized that the conclusion of the polls should immediately usher in an era of unity and non-partisan governance.

?"Your victory comes with a renewed responsibility to serve the entire people of Osun State, irrespective of political affiliation, ethnic background, religious belief or geographical location.

The election is over, but the work of building a stronger, more prosperous and peaceful Osun has only just begun,” the Ooni stated, calling on Governor Adeleke to extend an olive branch to political opponents.

?The paramount ruler commended citizens for their peaceful participation while acknowledging key electoral facilitators, including the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), security agencies, election observers, and the media.

?In prioritizing key focus areas for the administration's second term, the Ooni urged sustained investment across critical sectors, including youth empowerment, job creation, quality education, accessible healthcare, agriculture, tourism, the creative economy, and capital infrastructure projects—specifically citing the newly completed Lagere Flyover in Ile-Ife and the Mayfair-to-Enuwa road dualization project.

?Reaffirming the support of the traditional institution in preserving peace and advancing economic initiatives, Oba Ogunwusi urged the governor to treat his second term as a legacy-defining opportunity centered on inclusive development and long-term state stability.
