APC Chairman set to Hold a Grand Reception for Governor Mutfwang, his Supporters into the Party


Plateau State is undergoing a profound and historic political realignment, one that signals a transition towards unity, inclusive leadership, and collective responsibility. 


Indeed it is a defining moment in the state’s political trajectory,because some existential and Political barriers are giving way to productive collaboration and inclusivity since governance is increasingly anchored on the shared goal of delivering tangible dividends of democracy to the people. 


Undoubtedly since the realignment, there has been a steadily rapproachment, confidence building efforts which so far has created a conducive environment for accelerated infrastructural development, economic expansion, and social investments that would directly impact the lives of ordinary citizens.


At the heart of this transformation is the Executive Governor of Plateau State, Barrister Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, a leader widely regarded as visionary, principled, and people-oriented.


It was in the light of that a fortnight ago, specifically Monday, December last year, Governor Mutfwang officially resigned his membership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), a decision he attributed to the realities of the moment and his unwavering commitment to purposeful leadership, clarity of direction, and effective service delivery.


 Barely a few days later,the Governor took another giant and decisive step by aligning with the Progressive Governors under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC). 


Fundamentally that step reaffirmed his emblematic matra of “The Time Is Now” for the Renewed Hope Agenda to take firm root and flourish in Plateau State. 


Suffice to mention that, this bold political move has been widely interpreted as the creation of a unifying platform, one that prioritizes the people above party interests, bridges of long-standing political and identity divides,as well as positions Plateau State to attract large-scale development initiatives capable of translating into better roads, job creation, enhanced security, and improved living standards.


Reflecting on more than two years of his stay in office, Governor Mutfwang’s administration and of course Plateau State, has experienced leadership defined by service, transparency, selflessness, and steadfast commitment to the public good. 


His calm disposition, dignified approach to governance, and consultative leadership style has distinguished his tenure thereby earning him admiration across political divides. Many view his leadership as a beacon of hope, steering Plateau toward a future as rich, diverse, and promising as its people and terrain.


Political analysts and observers believe that steps taken by Governor Mutfwang was not only measured incisive but calculative which significantly will reshape the political alliances ahead of future elections, strengthen bonds of brotherhood across the state, and open new pathways for increased federal presence. 


There is no doubt that expectations are high that the realignment will unlock fresh opportunities for infrastructural development, economic growth, and enhanced federal-state collaboration in Plateau State.


Therefore as preparations have reached their peaks for the formal grand reception tomorrow for the Jos Polo Field, one message that resonates clearly across the political landscape -Plateau State politics has entered a new phase defined by reconciliation, cooperation, and a renewed focus on collective progress. The event is expected to be a landmark political gathering, symbolizing unity and a shared commitment to a more prosperous Plateau.


The Plateau State Government has assured residents of adequate security arrangements, anticipating a massive turnout of party faithful, political leaders, youth groups, women associations, and thousands of supporters from across the state and beyond. Comprehensive traffic and crowd-control measures have also been put in place to ensure free flow of movement along major routes leading to the venue.


Expected to formally receive Governor Mutfwang into the APC is the Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Kashim Shettima, alongside national leaders of the party, members of the APC National Working Committee, members of the National and State Assemblies, members of the Federal Executive Council, chairmen of boards and parastatals, as well as governors from sister states. The gathering is projected to underscore Plateau State’s renewed political relevance on the national stage.


Beyond the ceremony, many believe that the emerging political union under Governor Mutfwang’s leadership will foster a people-centred political culture, one that promotes peace, cooperation, and inclusiveness; attracts public and private investments; and ensures that development reaches the ordinary man and woman in towns, villages, and communities across the state.


Observers further posit that this realignment could open a new vista for the Middle Belt region, which has grappled with insecurity and socio-economic challenges for decades.
