?Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, has advised Nigerians to evaluate political parties and their candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections based on their tangible track records and past actions rather than political rhetoric.
?Speaking on Thursday at the maiden graduation ceremony of 4,050 trainees at the Kaduna State Institute of Vocational Training and Skills Development (Balarabe Musa Institute) in Rigachikun, Kaduna, Abbas emphasized that voters must demand accountability from those positioning themselves as alternatives to the current administration.
He noted that many opposition figures have previously held public office and should be judged by how they managed public funds, built infrastructure, and delivered on their past responsibilities.
?Addressing the audience, the Speaker warned against being swayed by political rebranding, new party logos, or fresh campaign promises as the election season approaches.
He stressed that a change of political appearance does not equal a change of character, urging citizens across Kaduna State and the country to demand concrete evidence of past achievements before extending their trust.
?Abbas described the graduation of the 4,050 youths as a practical implementation of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
He highlighted the National Assembly's ongoing support through budgetary allocations, expanded access to student funding for vocational education, tax relief for small businesses, and targeted legislative frameworks aimed at driving youth empowerment and human capital development.
?Also speaking at the event, Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for the Federal Government's continued collaboration in key sectors, including security, infrastructure, agriculture, and transport. Governor Sani announced a ?200,000 grant for each of the 4,050 graduates—totalling ?810 million—administered through the Kaduna State Enterprise Development Agency to help them procure tools, secure working capital, and establish their businesses.
