?Ambassador Ahmed Haggag, former Assistant Secretary-General of the Organization of African Unity, highlights a profound shift across the continent

According to Ambassador Ahmed Haggag, Africa is rapidly emerging as a dynamic hub for technology, artificial intelligence, and homegrown digital innovation, reducing its reliance on outside nations. 

While younger generations effortlessly navigate this landscape as "digital natives," older generations can bridge the divide through shared curiosity, critical mentorship, and collaborative learning. Key nations are already driving this regional momentum:

Ambassador Haggag also described ?Egypt as a  regional powerhouse leveraging Cairo's Smart Village and innovation clusters to push forward AI research, software engineering, and startup incubation.

He said ?Nigeria is the Home to Lagos's thriving "Yaba Silicon Valley," renowned for fintech innovations, youth-led tech initiatives, and intensive coding bootcamps.

He also listed out ?South Africa as Leading with advanced digital infrastructure, tech hubs in Cape Town and Johannesburg, and specialized university programs in data science.

Haggag further disclosed how ?Algeria is  expanding its digital footprint via targeted investments in tech parks, startup incubators, and youth literacy programs.

 Ultimately, adapting to digital transformation is not about learning to code overnight, but about fostering problem-solving, exploring basic digital concepts together, and uniting generations to secure Africa's economic future.

He concluded by calling on all the African countries to leverage on African products in order to boost Africa's economy instead of relying mostly on importing foreign products, he said Africa should buy from africa
