?Abdurrahman Ahmed Bundi, the Senior Technical Assistant on Print and Digital Communications to Borno State Governor Babagana Umara Zulum, alongside 14 other prominent communicators and institutions, has been recognized at the 6th National Spokespersons Awards (NSAwards) in Abuja.

?Bundi emerged as the winner in the Digital Communication category during the ceremony held on Wednesday at the Nicon Luxury Hotel.

Other distinguished recipients of the 2026 awards included the Kano State Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya; the Central Bank of Nigeria’s Director of Corporate Communications, Hakama Sidi-Ali; the Nigerian Customs Service; and the Federal Road Safety Corps.

?The event, which was paired with the 4th Edition of the Economic Confidential Lecture, was chaired by the President of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Dr. Ike Neliaku. Organized annually by Image Merchants Promotion Limited (IMPR)—publishers of PRNigeria, Economic Confidential, and Spokespersons Digest—the awards aim to encourage professional excellence and foster informed public discourse across Nigeria.

?According to the Jury Chair, Professor Saudat Salah Abdulbaqi, the 2026 edition received 171 initial nominations. Following a rigorous multi-stage screening process evaluating Impact, Innovation and Originality, Reach, and Quality of Evidence, the seven-member jury narrowed the field to 30 finalists across 15 categories before selecting the ultimate winners.

?In his opening address, IMPR Chief Executive Officer Alhaji Yusha’u Shuaib reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to strengthening public relations standards and celebrating outstanding practice in strategic communications.

High-profile attendees included the Director-General of the Voice of Nigeria, Jibrin Baba Ndace—representing Information Minister Mohammed Idris—former Defence Spokesman Major General Chris Olukolade, and Professor Sule Ya’u Sule, alongside numerous leading public relations executives.
