Troops Rescues Wife of Late Major General Rabe Abubakar After Gun Battle with Bandits in Katsina


Troops of the Nigerian Army, supported by the Nigerian Air Force, have successfully rescued Mrs. Amina Abubakar, wife of the late Major General Rabe Abubakar, former Director of Defence Information, who was abducted alongside her husband by bandits a few weeks ago.


Zagazola in a post revealed that the rescue followed intensified search-and-rescue operations conducted by troops of Operation FASAN YAMMA. During sustained offensive operations and increased pressure on criminal elements, troops made contact with the bandits at Tunga Village, leading to the successful recovery of Mrs. Abubakar.


According to military authorities, the bandits shot Mrs. Abubakar during the encounter before abandoning her and fleeing in the face of overwhelming pressure from advancing troops.


She was immediately evacuated to a military hospital, where she is currently receiving treatment and responding positively.


The Armed Forces of Nigeria have reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring her full recovery and are providing all necessary support to her family during this difficult period.


Security forces also pledged to sustain ongoing operations aimed at tracking down and neutralising the perpetrators while intensifying efforts to rid Katsina State and other affected parts of the country of terrorist and bandit activities.
