The Senate Committee on Finance has today rescinded its earlier decision to pass a resolution calling for the removal of the Registrar-General/CEO of the Corporate Affairs Commission, Hussaini Ishaq Magaji, SAN.
The decision followed a successful explanation and apology tendered by the Registrar General during the Committee’s sitting today at the National Assembly.
Today’s resolution further followed a motion moved by Senator Jibrin Isa (Kogi East) and seconded by Senator Nasir Sani Zangon Daura (Katsina North).
The Committee therefore rescinded its decision of 26th February 2026 to demonstrate the spirit of institutional collaboration, mutual respect, and shared commitment between the National Assembly and the CAC to foster transparency, accountability, and enhanced service delivery.
For his part, the Registrar-General pledged to ensure continued closer cooperation with the National Assembly and to close all communication gaps between them.
