The Trial of Former Nigerian Oil Minister Diezani Alison-madueke and Two Others at London's Southwark Crown Court for Alleged Corruption Has Commenced.

The Bribes, Which Included Luxury Goods and Access to High-end Properties, Were Offered in Exchange for Lucrative Oil and Gas Contracts. 

Alison-madueke, Who Was Charged in 2023 With Five Counts of Bribe-taking and One Count of Conspiracy to Commit Bribery, Has Pleaded Not Guilty to All Charge.

Alison-madueke Was Minister for Petroleum Resources Between 2010 and 2015 Under Then-president Goodluck Jonathan and Was Also Briefly President of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries, the First Woman to Hold Either Role.

The 65-year-old is Now One of the Most High-profile Former Energy Officials to Stand Trial for Alleged Corruption.
