The Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) has officially responded to the audit query issued by the Office of the Auditor-General of the Federation regarding its 2023 financial expenditure.

?In a press statement released in Abuja by the Director of Media, Public Relations, and Protocols, Abdur-Rahman Balogun, the Commission confirmed that its comprehensive response—backed by relevant documentary evidence—has been submitted to both the Office of the Auditor-General and the Public Accounts Committees of the National Assembly.

?NiDCOM emphasized that an audit observation is a standard administrative process rather than a final verdict of financial wrongdoing.

The Commission noted that queries are routine requests for clarification that every responsible public institution must answer, which it has fully complied with.

?Urging the public and civil society groups against hasty judgments, NiDCOM stated that it is premature to draw conclusions before the oversight bodies review the submitted records.

The Commission directed all further inquiries concerning its 2023 audited report to the Auditor-General’s office and the National Assembly’s Public Accounts Committees, which hold the constitutional mandate for financial oversight.
