?President Bola Tinubu has expressed his deep condolences to the family, colleagues, and fans of veteran Nollywood actor, filmmaker, and screenwriter Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, following his passing.

?In a statement issued by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, the President described the late actor as a distinguished artiste whose decades-long career significantly shaped Yoruba-language theatre and the broader Nigerian film industry.

?President Tinubu noted that Ogogo’s distinctive performance style, commanding screen presence, and commitment to the arts entertained generations of Nigerians while showcasing the rich tapestry of Yoruba culture on national and international stages.

?Highlighting the actor's lasting legacy, the President emphasized that Ogogo's contributions extended beyond his roles to include mentoring younger talent within the creative sector.

?"Alhaji Taiwo Hassan was a gifted artiste who used his talent to tell Nigerian stories, preserve our cultural heritage, and entertain audiences at home and abroad," President Tinubu stated. "His passing is a great loss to his family, the Yoruba film industry, Nollywood, and the entire Nigerian creative community. On behalf of the Federal Government, I extend my heartfelt condolences to his family, colleagues, friends, and millions of admirers. I pray that Almighty Allah will grant him eternal rest and give his loved ones the strength to bear this irreparable loss."

?The President called on members of the creative industry and the public to honor the late actor's memory by continuing to promote and preserve the cultural and artistic traditions to which he dedicated his life.

?Prior to committing full-time to the screen in 1994, Ogogo spent roughly 13 years working as a mechanic for the Ogun State Water Corporation while simultaneously building his acting career, which first began in 1981.
