?The Kano State Multi-Taskforce on Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking has sought enhanced collaboration with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to curb drug abuse and redirect offenders toward becoming productive citizens.

?The request was made during a courtesy visit by the Taskforce Chairman, Muhuyi Magaji Rimingado, to the Acting Director of the EFCC Kano Zonal Directorate, Assistant Commander Friday Ebelo, at the Commission's zonal office.

?Rimingado highlighted the critical role of the EFCC in national development, noting that the anti-graft agency was the first he approached for partnership due to their previously successful working relationship.

He explained that the task force focuses not only on arrests but also on public sensitization and the rehabilitation of drug users to help them reintegrate into society as useful citizens.

?In response, Ebelo reaffirmed the EFCC's commitment to supporting the task force, pointing out the strong link between drug trafficking and financial crimes.

He emphasized that curbing drug abuse requires dismantling the financial networks of traffickers and urged the task force to share intelligence on individual and syndicate financiers.

?Ebelo also commended the task force for its recent seizure of 116 cartons of pregabalin in Kano State, stressing that law enforcement must go beyond arresting suspects to targeting the sponsors and financial backbones of drug operations.

He urged the task force team to remain dedicated to securing a drug-free future for the next generation.
