As parts of safety majors for the successful conduct of the 2026 Hajj operations which is currently ongoing in the Holly cities of Saudi Arabia, the authorities have releases a guideline for Pilgrims to adhere to.
All Nigerian pilgrims have been strongly advised by the national hakk commission of nigeria NAHCON to take note of an important directive issued by the Saudi authorities regarding movement and logistics during the pilgrimage period.
A statement made available by NAHCON has revealed that the Saudi authorities have banned the use of trolley bags in the holy sites of Mina and Arafat.
This measure forms part of efforts to ensure smooth crowd management, improve safety, and ease movement within the sacred areas where millions of pilgrims gather within a limited space and time.
Pilgrims are therefore urged to strictly comply with this directive and avoid carrying trolley bags into Mina and Arafat under any circumstance.
Experience has shown that trolley bags often obstruct movement, create congestion on pedestrian pathways, and can become safety hazards during peak movement periods.
The restriction is designed to protect pilgrims and facilitate orderly movement during Hajj activities.
Nigerian pilgrims are encouraged to make alternative arrangements by carrying only light and essential personal items in soft bags or backpacks that are easier to handle and less likely to disrupt the movement of others.
Furthermore, pilgrims are reminded that obedience to the rules and regulations guiding activities in Mina is not optional. Compliance is a critical aspect of ensuring a successful Hajj experience. Pilgrims should:
* Adhere strictly to instructions from Saudi authorities, Hajj officials, and guides.
* Remain within designated camp areas and movement schedules.
* Avoid actions that may obstruct walkways or create unnecessary congestion.
* Exercise patience, discipline, and consideration for fellow pilgrims.
* Keep only essential items while moving between holy sites.
* Observe all safety and security directives issued throughout the Hajj exercise.
* Refrain from violating regulations that could attract sanctions or cause inconvenience to others.
Mina is one of the most sensitive and densely populated areas during Hajj, hosting millions of pilgrims at the same time. Every regulation introduced by authorities is aimed at safeguarding lives and ensuring that pilgrims perform their religious obligations in a safe and organized atmosphere.
The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria urges all Nigerian pilgrims to remain law-abiding ambassadors of the country by demonstrating discipline, patience, and respect for regulations throughout their stay in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Pilgrims are advised to remember that following instructions and cooperating with authorities are not only civic responsibilities but also essential components of a peaceful and spiritually rewarding Hajj experience.
Your safety, comfort, and successful completion of Hajj rites remain our collective priority.
